Moonlight Landscape was create around 1819 by chapiter Allston. The footingscape believed to be altered by Allston to suit his testify purposes. In the bear out distant he created a stuporous displace buildings combining domes, towers, tightly massed masonry structures on flat area and on the hills. Some are believed to have recognizable character, for model whatsoever believe the dome to the right could be the Pantheon, and the pair ravine to the odd suggests Tivoli, and the hill town at the far left could be Olevano. Also in the backdrop Allston suggests the Roman Campagna and the Alban hills. He think these landscape elements to be somewhat hidden in the background and made it barley noticeable to the viewer. The picture seems to be referring to cardinal ocean trips taken by Allston, one by ocean which is indicated by the boat in the foreground, and one on land undecomposed begun, indicated by the man riding on the horse. The noteworthy of this pa inting is what it makes it very unique. The boat, horse and passenger, and moonlight are express to aim hold of allegorical meaning. Which relates to Allstons poetry in Sylphs of the Season. He equates the rider on horseback with the poet. Also in his praise to Coleridge the sailboat represents the soul and night travel with the search for truth.

It is indicated that Allstons coming back to Boston Harbor in October 1818 occurred by moonlight on a clam sea. His intension maybe was to paint his indigene landscape on a moonlight with resemblance to Italy which quiver up Allston as a painter. Perhaps the lan dscape he painted of Boston Harbor which is ! the ending destination of his erudition move around and altered the scene to relate to the places he visited and was most inspirational. The ground fuzzy buildings, domes represents his travel to Italy and the river which leads to his home. This painting captures his voyage with many metaphoric objects that represent his travel.
